My ride

My Two wheeled beauty is a blue and white '09 Suzuki gs 500f that I bought about two month's ago. So far I have about 1,400 Miles under my belt, I hope to have a couple thousand more by the end of the summer.

Here she is:

Now taking suggestions for names.

Here are some of the features of this gal.

Pigtail added:

a necessity if you want to charge anything on your bike. Hooks right up to your battery and your gps/phone. don't leave it plugged in while the bikes not on though...

Watch:

 Just like a dashboard clock!

A New Direction for the blog!

If we take a quick look at my bucket list, one of the earlier ones is #11 take a moped trip across the USA.

This is one of the more adventurous Items on the list. The plan for this one started back in Americorps as summer trip to plan to help pass the time. Originally it was gonna be me and and Zander, a skinny white artisitic rebel from upstate New York.  However, unfortunately Zander was unable to procure funds for such a trip, so I was left without a travel companion for the trip.

Not one to be deterred, I switched my ride to a motorcycle and planned out a rough draft of a solo cross country motorcycle trip that would hit many of the unique sights and sounds that this large country has to offer, as well as reunite me with some long lost AmeriCorps friends.

After months of planning, gathering supplies and saving money.... I leave tomorrow for my cross country adventure of 2011.

# 259 - Get a motorcycle license

This was one of the first necessary steps in completing another item on my list #11 - take a moped trip across the united states. All larger mopeds are classified as motorcycles in the state of Massachusetts, so getting a bike license was a necessity.

I completed this item in a couple of easy steps:

1st: I got my learners permit down at the DMV - 20 multiple choice traffic questions - cake!

2nd: I took a two day 15 msf endorsed class in Boston. I went with Streetwise motorcycle school. the instructors were very personable, thorough and all around awesome.

3rd: I bought my bike and did some training in parking lots - the clutch was the biggest hurdle for me

and boom! class M  motorcycle license!

Getting things done

#345 - Learn how to make Stained Glass

On my way up to Madison to visit my oldest sister, she informed me that she was going to help me accomplish one of the things on my bucket list, but alas, she would not tell me what it was going to be.
I was allowed three guesses, all of which I promptly got wrong,

All I could do at this point was cross my fingers and hope that I wasn't going to be set on fire just yet.

My sister surprised me by taking me to a stained glass workshop. I spent two hours working on the basics of how to make stained glass using copper foil and some solder and even made an ornament myself. Its not to hard and it looks really good.

I would like to learn a bit more especially how to cut glass, but its definitely a push to get me started.
